Some day, I’ll make it down for Spring Training . . . I’ve always wanted to (though I’ve always held out hope that I’d score a non-roster invitation to play for the Yankees . . . although, I’m guessing since I’m at the age where most major league players are contemplating retirement, that might not be in the cards for me).
And seeing the score cards made me smile. A lot — that (along with learning to score bowling by hand) is going to be one remnant from the past that I won’t allow modern technology to take away from me.
Spring Training is awesome – and it’s a great atmosphere for kids.
I don’t have all the nuances of scoring down, but I think I do pretty well. It’s such a great way to stay connected to the game; I really, really enjoy it.

Less fighting, but the same amount of beer and screaming. You’ll come around.
